![]() ![]() If 2Pac Were Alive Today Where Would He Be ? letter #2 There seems to be a problem with answering that question and I will try to explain why my answer is a bit of not answering. You see Tupac (unfortunatly) is dead and I find that it was destiny in a sense that brought him to that place (wherever that is after this life). I also believe Tupac was the driving force behind himself reaching his destiny. He often talked about his own death something that seems to be trendy in todays rap, songs like "Death Around the Corner" and "Who do you Believe in" are not just regular songs. I feel he felt the shadows coming for him. I also believe Tupac (like many rappers) is a poet. A poet channeling words through him to us. I feel Tupac reached his pinacle through his death, by his death and the surrounding questions he is immortal much in the same way as Jim Morrison and others. How could he sellout and take the road to stardom and forget the people he represented, the constant struggle within him--The Rose that grew from Concrete. He was a continuation of the revolutionary movement in the sixties and a continuation of his family (Assatta, Mutulu, Geronimo). Lets not forget about the rap game, when Tupac came up he was caught in the East/West struggle, never being excepted by one side. The Source Magaizine was a NY Magazine and Hip Hop was New York and if it wasnt New York then it was regarded as real hip hop. He faught to his death to remove that mentality and now all you see is all these people from the South and MidWest and West Coast who are all over the magazines, the TV, the billboard charts, cameos on NY artists albums, and even the evolution of the beats. Tupac and in turn Biggie had to die for people to see that its not where your from but who you are. So back to where Tupac would be. He would be everywhere, Tupac was a star in every sense of the word. Whether is was theatre, rapping, poetry, producing music, acting, or danceing you were going to know the name Tupac Shakur its that simple. He did all of the things i just named and I think that he could have been famous from doing anything of them. I think from Tupac was he was going to concintrate more on acting. His critically acclaimed performences in "GridLockd" and "Gang Related" were not unoticed...He was going to become huge in acting. I think he was also going to setup "Makaveli Records" (which he was doing) and he was going to blow up the Outlawz and others under his own label. I think he was also going to get involved in politics, i do not see him as someone sitting back i see him as very involved in the society as a whole. I think he was going to do everything he set his mind too. In honesty I dont think an academy award or broadway was not an unreachable goal by Tupac and by the looks of his last true album (Makaveli) he was on the way to proving that he was also one of the best or if not the best lyricist in the game. After reaching the album sells that All Eyez on Me reached he came back with heat unlike others who fall off and forget the game. From what i hear he was beginging collaborations with Madonna and Alannis Morrisette and others, i see him as being a revolutionary in his music too and strenghthing relations between the races as a leader as he got older. |
