If 2Pac Were Alive Today

Where Would He Be ?

letter #4

Tupac: Where Would He Be Today?

If Tupac were alive today he would touring the country registering voters.
He would have left Death Row Records and started his own label, releasing lyrically advanced and socially conscious hip-hop soul music. He would have made peace with Biggie Smalls and recorded with the late great Christopher Wallace. He would tour again with Digital Underground. He would be actively protesting the Diallo verdict. He would be speaking out against California's crime bill and the U.S.'s move towards privatization of prisons. If Tupac were alive today he would be bigger than ever. He would be an inspiration to the masses. He would understand that his "Thug Life" image attracted both the urban black masses he was speaking to and for, as well as the "curious" white suburbanites. He would use this following to make changes in his country. He would begin to understand that his fight was a global one. If Tupac were alive today he would be the same thing he is in death, a symbol and a personification of what's in many of our hearts, and things both right and wrong about the United States and the human condition. If Tupac were alive today he wouldn't have changed a bit, in that the only constant is change. He'd have just been himself, love and hate, like it or leave it.
