SCARFACE
MY HOMIES
Rap-A-Lot
The best double lp since 2Pac's 'All Eyez On Me' A destined Houston style hip hop classic
Mr Scarface comes with the best double lp since 2Pac's 'All Eyes On Me' classic.. This is good because this trend of releasing double lps has been a major bust in the since that the overwhelming majority seemed rushed.. and contain too much 'filler' material.. Such is not the case here with Scarface.. He provides us with a superb album that takes us on a journey through his native Houston Texas...
Scarface has 30 songs on this lp entitled 'My Homies' and almost all of them are strong.. He varies his style and tempo just enough to keep you interested..but not enough to lose you.. He doesn't fall into the current trend of remaking songs... and He varies his subject matter.. Simply put this album and Scarface is the Bomb..Hopefully 98 is the year that he gets thrusted into the arena of superstar status that he deserves...
Strong cuts on this album are too numerous to name.. I think the strong cuts will vary from listener to listener... Face is consistent.. He does some good collobarations..Most notably with two of hip hop's fallen icons... 2Pac and Seagram.. 'Homies & Thugs' which features him, Master P and 2Pac is a dope ass cut that'll have you boppin' and really missing 2Pac... 'Sleepin' In My Nikes' which features Seagram makes you realize what a tragic lose for hip hop to have Seag gunned down while he was in his prime...
My persoanl favorites include.. 'Ma Homiez','Do What You Do' which features The Bay Area's B-Legit, Bushwick Bill and KB, 'the soulful 'All Night Long', 'The Geto' which features Ice Cube, KB and Willie D and the hard thumpin' 'Greed'...
Overall Scarface comes through like a champ.. This is an lp you won't regret buying.. espcially if you're into that Houston mob style sound that Face is best known for...
