I think if Tupac hadn't gotten shot in Las Vegas, he
would've signed with his father-in-law Quincy Jones.
He would've dropped a ground-breaking hip hop album
with no swearing or ganster posturing. He'd become a
mainstream music star not simply a rap star.
Housewives and teenage girls would be buying their
first rap cds. He wouldn't care about the little rap
beefs and stuff simply expressing himself in music.
tupac would have won a grammy for best album on Qwest
Records produced by Quincy Jones and QDIII (together)
(in 1998 maybe), sold 20 million copies, retired from
rap and had children with Kidada Jones. Suge Knight
and him would be occasional friends but their
relationship would fade as Tupac saw him as someone
stuck in a negative lifestyle. The 2000 election would
be Tupac's big focus and he would be investing major
effort on getting the rights of the community focused
on. He'd be out there protesting the Diallo shooting
in NY, as a celebrity. He probably would've used his
huge position to positively influence the community.
With being found innocent of the rape charge, he'd be
free to focus on acting. Artists like DMX and Master p
would never have become popular and 2Pac would push
the focus far away from "Gangsta" rap. Tupac would've
ended the careers of PUffy and BIG so we wouldn't have
to put up with their music.
